Homeless man's disgusting act against stranger in street

A woman had a bucket of hot faeces poured on her by a homeless man in the middle of a street.

Heidi Van Tassel told NBC4 the homeless man came running across the street towards her, he pulled her out of her car and into the middle of Hollywood Boulevard, where he poured a bucket of faeces on her head.

“It was diarrhoea. Hot liquid. I was soaked, and it was coming off my eyelashes and into my eyes," Ms Van Tassel told NBC4.

“Paramedics who came to treat me said there was so much of it on me, that it looked like the man was saving it up for a month.”

Ms Van Tassel’s account of the attack was confirmed by records obtained by NBC4.

Following the gruesome attack, Ms Van Tassel was rushed to a nearby hospital and tested for infectious diseases which can be caused by coming into contact with faeces.

Ms Van Tassel claims she called Los Angeles Police Department, who said they would investigate, however she is yet to receive a call from them, according to NBC4.

She also claims the police said they would have someone from their victim’s advocate department reach out to her and offer services, and is yet to hear from them.

Ms Van Tassel also said she is now suffering from PTSD and she said there needs to be some kind of help for victims of these crimes.

Despite the horrific ordeal, Ms Van Tassel has said she has empathy for the homeless man, who NBC4 have identified as Jere Blessings.

NBC4 reports Mr Blessings has “schizophrenia and psychotic disorders”, according to court records.

“He doesn't need jail time. He needs mental health care,” Ms Van Tassel said.

Mr Blessings was ordered by a judge to spend time in a facility, but only for two months and he was released in August.

Police have denied Ms Van Tassel’s request to see the footage of the attack which was captured on security cameras by surrounding businesses, and the aftermath caught on police bodycam.
