'He's my baby': Woman's desperate lengths to find missing dog

A distraught Queensland pet owner has gone to great heights to find her missing dog, putting up a giant billboard in the hopes of getting her pooch back.

Anna Gerbanas paid $1200 for the huge sign, claiming her French bulldog, Frank, was stolen from her backyard while she was out celebrating her 24th birthday on February 2.

She said the family was “devastated” to find Frank gone.

She and her sister Samantha put up posters around the neighbourhood, went door-knocking and set up a Help Find Frank Facebook page, but the billboard was the icing on the cake in their bid to get their dog back.

The billboard was erected at a Waterford West roadside in Logan, and the advertising company also supported the family’s cause by adding Frankie’s face to its digital signs at Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley and at Ipswich, The Courier-Mail reported.

“I love Frankie more than I can put in to words… He’s like my little soulmate in a dog form,” she told 7 News.

“Not waking up next to him is so devastating. He’s the best companion in the whole world… Frankie is my baby. I love him so much.”

As the pooch was not yet desexed, the one-year-old French bulldog would have been a target for breeders, Ms Gerbanas said.

She hopes the extra attention makes anyone who might have stolen the dog nervous and force them to return her pet.

“Ideally [the thieves] would feel the pressure of everyone looking for him. They won’t be able to sell him.”

Her message to Frankie’s thieves: “Just drop him at a vet, give him back. Just bring him home.”
