Heavily pregnant woman falls trying to stop theft of car with children inside
A nine-months pregnant woman has fallen as she tried to stop a man who has driven off while test driving her Mercedes-Benz, with two of her children still inside the vehicle.
The man drove about 300m down the road before stopping and ordering the 10-year-old boy and eight-year-old girl out of the car, before driving away at Greenacre on Saturday.
NSW Police said the woman had met two men after one responded to an online advertisement for her car, a 2014 black Mercedes A45 AMG on Saturday.
After taking one of the men in the vehicle, he asked to drive himself. As she got out of the car, he locked the doors and drove away.
“The woman grabbed hold of the door handle but fell over as the car drove off with her two children still inside,” police said.
She was taken to hospital as a precaution.
The black Mercedes A45 AMG with NSW registration DZG31F has yet to be located.
One of the men is described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori in appearance, 20 – 25 years old, with a large/ solid build, about 180cm tall, with purple dyed hair in a bun, and wearing a grey jumper and dark pants.
The other is described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori in appearance, about 20 years old, tall, with a skinny build, patchy facial hair, and wearing dark clothing and a dark hat.
