Gunmen kidnap alleged bikie accountant: cops
An accountant in Sydney’s west was kidnapped over Comanchero bikie links, NSW Police say after finding the man.
On Monday morning the businessman was kidnapped upon leaving his car after commuting to his Silverwater workplace, police say. The Daily Telegraph reports that three men in balaclavas pulled the man from his car at 8.40am.
Police allege one kidnapper was brandishing a handgun.
“Officers attached to State Crime Command’s robbery and serious crime squad attended and commenced an investigation into the incident,’’ a police statement said.
Police traced two vehicles allegedly involved in the abduction: a BMW and a Hyundai. One of the vehicles led investigators to a home in South Wentworthville where riot police were dispatched.
The missing accountant was not found at the scene but a tip-off at 7.30pm led police to Grantham Park in southwestern Sydney where he was located.
He reportedly suffered a broken nose for which he was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for facial injuries.
Police say the businessman refused to go to hospital for the injury and has not co-operated with subsequent investigations.
