Great white shark devours meal just metres away from swimmer off Bondi Beach

A great white shark has been filmed just metres from swimmers at Sydney’s Bondi Beach.

The shark, more than two metres long, was filmed by Drone Shark app creator Jason Iggleden on Wednesday morning.

Video obtained by Nine News shows the shark swimming just 20 metres from a swimmer.

It devours what’s thought to be a large tuna.

“He’s not far off the surfers, bro,” Mr Iggleden says in the video.

“Ring them (lifesavers).”

Mr Iggleden contacted lifeguards who had the water cleared. The shark then closed in on a school of salmon before the shark was scared off by mid-afternoon.

Last week, a photo of a great white shark spotted in the Pacific Ocean off Japan went viral after it apparently bit off more than it could chew.

In March, a great white was found cut into pieces in South Australia’s southeast.

It led to a warning from Primary Industries and Regions SA (PIRSA) Fisheries Officers.
