Golf course manager sets out to prove 'Jurassic Park-like' alligator is real
The giant "Jurassic Park-like" alligator that made headlines earlier this week when it strolled across a golf green in Florida is 100 per cent real, according to the manager of the golf course.
Ken Powell posted a second video showing a close-up view of the beast to put speculation about the authenticity of the sightings to rest.
The huge gator can be seen walking slowly across the grass from a much closer angle.
After the release of the first clip on Tuesday, some viewers believed the massive gator was a fake, claiming the animal was simply two people wearing a crocodile costume.
The original video was recorded by amateur golfer Charles Helms during a visit to the Buffalo Creek Golf Course in Florida.
In contrast to the skeptics, employees of the golf course said the gator was a regular guest.
“They want to see so they will bring spectators to ride so somebody can get a picture,” staff member Wendy told local News 3.
“He doesn't bother anybody and they don't bother him, he's like a mascot for the course.”
Alligators are common in Florida and this isn’t the first time one has been spotted relaxing on a golf course.
In 2015, Dick Huber captured a photo on the 7th hole at Myakka Pines Golf Club in Florida.
In this instance the gator wandered from one pond to another and stopped to take a quick break on the green.
At another Florida golf course on Easter Sunday, golfer Barbara Mossop filmed two alligators fighting on the green.
