Girl leaps from window fleeing cops

A critical incident has been declared after a woman was injured after she allegedly jumped out a window to escape police in Sydney’s Inner West.

The incident began when police were called to View Street in Marrickville at 2:20pm on Thursday after hearing reports of a fight outside a unit block.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with a man and a woman inside of the unit block.

While they were conducting inquiries behind the unit, the officers became aware of a third person “present in another room”.

A 22-year-old woman was then found outside the unit with head injuries.

She was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a stable condition.

It’s unknown if she was linked to the reported fight and she has not been charged with any crime.

“A crime scene has been established, with a critical incident team from Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident,” a NSW Police spokesperson said.

The investigation will be subject to an independent review.
