Girl dies after four-year-old brother accidentally shoots her

A young girl has died after she was shot in the head accidentally by her four-year-old brother.

Millie Drew Kelly, 6, from Georgia in the US, suffered the fatal bullet wound on Monday evening when she sat in a car with her brother outside their home, CNN reported.

The pair, starting their journey to the boy’s baseball game, were left alone briefly when their mother went to check under the car’s bonnet, Paulding County Sheriff’s Office said.

The boy then found the gun inside the car and accidentally fired it at his sister.

The horrified mother called emergency services with paramedics arriving at the scene shortly after.

Millie Drew was rushed to hospital however died two days later, the sheriff’s office said.

There will be no charges filed over the death, CNN revealed.

A GoFundMe page has since been set up for the family to support them through their ordeal.

“Please continue to uplift this family in prayer,” the page said.

The GoFundMe page revealed Millie Drew’s family had donated her organs.
