Gas up nearly 1 cent per litre across N.L.

Drivers in Newfoundland and Labrador will pay slightly more for gas on Thursday following the latest adjustment from the Public Utilities Board.

The PUB increased the price of gas by 0.9 cents per litre, putting the price on the Avalon Peninsula at just under $1.92 per litre. Prices vary in other parts of the province, but range between $1.92 and $2.09 per litre in Newfoundland and between $1.77 and $2.15 per litre in Labrador.

All other fuels decreased in price as of Thursday morning.

Diesel lowered by 0.6 cents per litre across much of the province, and by 0.9 cents per litre in Labrador West and Churchill Falls. Prices for the fuel now range between $1.84 and $1.96 per litre in Newfoundland and between $2.05 and $2.59 per litre in Labrador.

The price of furnace oil lowered by just over 0.5 cents per litre, meaning customers in Newfoundland will now pay between $1.19 and $1.37 per litre.

Stove oil decreased by the same amount in Newfoundland, but increased by just under 0.9 cents per litre in Labrador West and Churchill Falls. The change puts prices between $1.24 and $1.42 per litre in Newfoundland and between $1.41 and $1.95 per litre in Labrador.

Propane took the largest decrease of the fuels, down 1.4 cents per litre. Prices now range between $0.97 and $1.10 per litre in Newfoundland and between $0.83 and $1.28 per litre in Labrador.
