The father of a man accused of a double fatal car crash has charged with hindering the investigation into the incident.

The 61-year-old father of Johnson Kokozian was arrested at his Cartwright home on Tuesday and taken to Liverpool Police Station.

He has been charged with concealing an indictable offence and hindering an investigation in relation to the crash.

Mr Kokozian’s father was granted strict conditional bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court on October 19.

Police allege Mr Kokozian, 20, was behind the wheel of a black Mercedes when it collided head-on with a Toyota Echo and then a Toyota RAV4 shortly after 9pm in Heckenberg on Friday.

Paramedics treated the driver of the Echo, Alina Kauffman, 24, and her teen brother Ernesto at the scene but the siblings passed away as a result of the crash.

The two occupants of the RAV4 were not injured while police allege that Mr Kokozian left the scene along with passenger Cruz Pamoana Davis-Tuka, 21.

The 20-year-old Mr Kokozian was charged with two counts of dangerous driving occasion death, failing to assist after a fatal crash, negligent driving occasioning death, and driving while disqualified.

But additional charges were laid on Tuesday, including two counts of aggravated dangerous driving occasioning death and exceed speed over 45km/h.

Mr Davis-Tuka has also been charged with concealing a serious indictable offence and hindering an investigation.

Mr Kokozian’s pregnant partner has also been charged in relation to the event, with police sensationally arresting her outside Liverpool Local Court where she had travelled to support her boyfriend.

Tiana Savignano had made it just 30 metres away from the courthouse before a group of police ran after her before leading her to a nearby police station to be charged with concealing a serious indictable offence and hindering a serious investigation.

The 22-year-old sat in the dock of the court with tears streaming down her face as a police prosecutor told the court she went to Mr Kokozian’s father’s house after the crash where an alleged “discussion occurred in relation to creating a false narrative.”

The court was told Ms Savignano and Mr Kokozian allegedly tried to prevent police from “appropriately investigating this matter” or capturing “critical” evidence.
