Five men arrested over gruesome murder of man whose burnt body was found in bushland

Five people have been arrested over their alleged roles in the murder of a man whose body was set on fire in a NSW state forest.

Tyron Beauchamp's remains were found in bushland at Upper Landsdowne, north of Taree, in the early hours of December 27 after a fire crew put out a small blaze on Yarratt Road.

The 41-year-old victim was originally from Queensland and had moved to the Taree area in mid 2018.

Detectives on Wednesday morning arrested four men – aged 19, 22, 23 and 24 – at separate homes in Taree.

A fifth man, aged 42, was also arrested.

All have been taken to Forster Police Station.

Police in January said they believed Mr Beauchamp had been assaulted and killed at another location before being dumped in the bush and set alight.

Days before the grim discovery, a death threat was posted to Mr Beauchamp's Facebook page in the form of a comment.

"I'm going to break you and bury you where nobody will ever find your remains (you're) a dog," a mostly anonymous profile wrote on December 23.

Mr Beauchamp responded a day later with: "How bout U show ya face n I'll come meet U."
