Finding owner of 'distinctive' white drawers crucial to police investigation

Locating the owners of a chest of drawers covered in children’s handwriting could prove to be a breakthrough in an ongoing investigation, police say.

Queensland Police are looking to identify the owners of the “distinctive” white drawers, stressing that they haven’t committed a crime but may be able to help with an investigation in the in the Maryborough and Hervey Bay areas.

The wooden drawers covered in painted flowers appear to have the numbers 1 to 7 drawn on them in green pen.

Police say the numbers were possibly drawn by a child with the numbers 2 and 3 written back to front.

Queensland Police were unable to confirm to Yahoo7 News any details regarding the investigation but stressed the importance of locating the owners.

Police have released images of the drawers hoping someone may recognise the item of furniture.

Detectives believe the drawers belong to someone living in the Maryborough or Hervey Bay areas, or a nearby location.
