Female cyclist dies after being hit by truck on NSW highway

A cyclist has died following a crash with a truck in northern NSW.

Paramedics were called to the Pacific Highway, near the Sawtell Road off ramp at Boambee, just south of Coffs Harbour, on Tuesday at about 8am.

The cyclist died at the scene.

The male truck driver, behind the wheel of a B-double, was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
