Farmer dies in hospital after being trapped in hay baler for days
A Victorian farmer has died in hospital after being trapped in a hay baler for several days.
Don Fagg had to be resuscitated at the Mount Duneed property, near Geelong, before he could be transferred to hospital after he was freed from the machine on Tuesday night.
The 65-year-old had been trapped by the machinery at a farm on Horseshoe Bend Road for "a number of days", according to police.
He was flown to a Melbourne hospital in critical condition.
The alarm was not raised with emergency services until about 6.45pm Tuesday.
The CFA, State Emergency Service volunteers and paramedics were called to the farm to assist in the rescue.
It took more than two hours for CFA and SES crews to free Mr Fagg. He was freed about 9.20pm and rushed to Barwon Health's Geelong hospital in a critical condition.
He was then flown by an air ambulance helicopter to the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
Mr Fagg passed away in hospital around midnight on Wednesday night.
Police are preparing a report for the Coroner.
