Kate Middleton Reveals First Public Appearance Since Cancer Treatment

Kate Middleton has returned after a medical hiatus following her announcement that she has cancer, and fans are relieved over the recent sighting of the Princess of Wales.

The royal has broken her silence with her first personal update since sharing the news, noting that she still has "good days and bad days" as it pertains to her diagnosis.

In an emotional statement, the princess provided a long-awaited update for fans, sharing an explanation about the current state of both her mental and physical health. It also included a photo of her standing against a tree donning denim jeans and a blazer, arms and ankles crossed as she looked up toward the sky.

"I have been blown away by all the kind messages of support and encouragement over the last couple of months,” the Princess of Wales opened the June 14 statement. “It really has made the world of difference to [Prince] William and me and has helped us both through some of the harder times. I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days.

Middleton continued: “On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting. But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well.”

She also confirmed that she is set to attend the annual Trooping the Colour event on Saturday, June 15, following conflicting speculative reports about her possible attendance.

“I’m looking forward to attending The King’s Birthday Parade this weekend with my family and hope to join a few public engagements over the summer, but equally knowing I am not out of the woods yet,” she added, after sharing that the treatment will be "ongoing" for "a few more months."

Though during her attendance she will not be working, as she has not yet returned to her royal duties, the update is sure to be a relief for fans, who've grown more worried over the state of the princess' health over the past few months.

“I am learning how to be patient, especially with uncertainty. Taking each day as it comes, listening to my body, and allowing myself to take this much needed time to heal. Thank you so much for your continued understanding, and to all of you who have so bravely shared your stories with me,” she concluded.

One fan on X (formerly Twitter) replied, "Thank you. Take it easy, we need you," with several others echoing that sentiment.
