Heart-warming moment family returns to home burned down in bushfires to find pet dog alive
The heart-warming moment a family found their pet dog waiting for them after their home burnt down during bushfires has been caught on camera.
The Weaver family had returned to their home in Santa Rosa for the first time since a ferocious wildfire destroyed their Northern California neighborhood in the middle of the night, CBS reported.
Believing their dog, nine-year-old Izzy, had died in the blaze, Jack Weaver and his brother-in-law Patrick Wide couldn't believe their eyes when the Bernese Mountain dog came running down the driveway to greet them.
“She was very happy to see us,” Jack recalled.
“She’s such a brave dog, she was panting a lot and clearly stressed but she was not frantic or anything.”
He immediately called his mother to reveal the miraculous discovery.
“She went from being devastated about losing her home to the being the happiest person I’ve ever seen," he said.
The family shared the moment on Facebook, and has since garnered over one million views.
