‘Extreme concerns’ held for missing 15-month-old girl

Police have issued an amber alert as they search for a 15-month-old girl missing from western Sydney.

They say there are "extreme concerns" for the safety of Peta Hodgson, who has been missing from Lethbridge Park since Tuesday afternoon.

She was at home with her mother, Sarah Hodgson, about 2pm but they left the property a short time later and haven't been seen since.

Peta is described as Caucasian with blonde curly hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and a nappy.

Her mother is also described as Caucasian with long light brown hair and brown eyes. She is 150cm tall and with a heavy build.

"There are extreme concerns for the safety of the child and as such police are asking the public to be on alert and report any sightings of this woman," NSW Police said in a statement.

"She is known to frequent Mount Druitt, Lethbridge Park, Nepean and Wentworthville. It is also believed she may be travelling on public transport."

Police urged members of the public to call Triple Zero to provide information about the bag.
