Bizarre celebrity conspiracy theory claims Katy Perry is JonBenét Ramsey
A new celebrity conspiracy theory involving an international pop star and one of America's most compelling unsolved murder mysteries has left internet users across the globe perplexed and intrigued.
A video which has gone viral online asserts that singer Katy Perry is actually missing US beauty queen JonBenét Ramsey, all grown up.
JonBenét Ramsey was born August 6, 1990.
On Boxing Day in 1996, Ramsay’s body was found in her parents’ basement in Boulder, Colorado, after being she had been strangled to death, alongside a ransom note demanding $118,000.
Her killer was never caught.
A small but dedicated community on YouTube believes that rather than die at age six, JonBenét became international pop superstar Katy Perry.
The video's alleged proof of the theory is that:

Coincidentally, in a biography,Perry is quoted as saying about herself as a child: “Not that I was one of those stage kids. There was no JonBenét Ramsey inside of me waiting to burst out.”

She also once tweeted lyrics to “God Bless America,” a song which JonBenét once sang and the recording of which was played over and over as a part of the media coverage after her death.
Dozens of YouTube videos have surfaced on the theory, solely to back up these claims.
Meanwhile, former leading detective Mark Beckner in the unsolved case admitted flaws in the investigation, saying there was a ‘perfect storm type scenario’.
“It was the Christmas holiday and we were short staffed, we faced a situation as I said earlier that no one in the country had ever seen before or since, and there was confusion at the scene as people were arriving before we had enough personnel on the scene,” he claimed on Reddit.
The ex-police chief also said the victim’s parents should have been interviewed immediately, as well as separately.
“I wish we could have done a much better job of securing and controlling the crime scene on day one.
“We also should have separated John and Patsy and gotten full statements from them that day,” he said.
Mr Beckner told Reddit users that he does ‘not believe anyone will ever be convicted in the Ramsey case’.
He has since claimed he was unaware that his comments were publicly available online and regrets his ‘naivete’.
JonBenét's parents, Patsy and John Ramsey, were key suspects in the case for many years, but were never charged due to a lack of evidence.
Mrs Ramsey died of cancer in 2006.
The investigation of JonBenét Ramsey’s murder still remains open.
