Dramatic police chase of motorhome with 'kidnapped children'

A dramatic police chase has unfolded on the streets of Los Angeles involving a motorhome in a suspected kidnapping.

The male driver drove the RV north on the Golden State Freeway through Santa Clarita with police cars in pursuit.

California Highway Patrol (CHP) Officer Siara Lund revealed two children could be inside the vehicle and the driver is possibly armed, NBC Los Angeles reported.

The man was first reported to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Santa Clarita Station around 9.30am (local time) on Tuesday.

Officers tracked the vehicle as it sped through Hollywood and onto 101 Ventura Freeway at around 90km/h.

Several CHP vehicles and a helicopter are following the motorhome as the pursuit continues.
