Dog saves owner by leading ambulance to him

A loyal golden retriever has shocked paramedics who realised the dog running in front of their ambulance was in fact guiding them to its owner.

The dog’s apparent attempt to make sure the crew made its way to its master was captured on the ambulance’s dashcam in Yuncheng, in China’s Shanxi Province, Global Times reports.

In the video the dog seems to be in the middle of the street waiting for help to arrive.

As the vehicle approaches the animal picks up speed down the roadway, and can be seen glancing back multiple times.

The footage then shows the golden retriever ducking into a smaller opening, reported to be a doorway in the narrow residential alleyway.

“We got a call saying that a trash collector had fainted at his home and was frothing at the mouth so we were immediately dispatched there,” paramedic Jiang Xu told the Global Times.

When the emergency crew arrived at their patient’s location they realised what the dog had apparently been trying to do.

The patient was not seriously ill but had been drunk and passed out, reports claim.
