Dog returned to animal shelter for being 'too good'

When a shelter has a dog returned to them after just 48 hours, they’ll most likely predict a traumatic experience involving the pet and the family has occurred in those two days.

Yet Arizona Animal Welfare League & SPCA in the US were stunned when a one-year-old dog named Binx was brought back to them after he was “too good” for his new owners.

In a Facebook post delivered in the first person, it was revealed Binx was not the challenge the family were looking for.

“I was adopted and returned within 48 hours, with notes saying I’m potty trained, good with kids, fun to play with, and good with dogs in the home!” the post read.

“They decided they wanted more of a challenge, and I think the only challenging part of me is how devastatingly handsome I am.”

The post included a picture of Binx appearing deflated following his return to the shelter.

Furious Facebook users took to the post to vent their anger over Binx’s return.

“It boggles my mind how people take pet adoption so flippantly! A pet is a living breathing thing, not a disposable item,” one user wrote.

The shelter says Binx is full of energy and have urged any active families to consider adopting the canine.

While Binx will get over his brief disappointment, a Queensland pup will take much longer to fully recover from her harrowing ordeal after being put up for adoption on Facebook in July.
