Driver returns to car vandalised over parking spot
A disgruntled Adelaide resident has apparently taken umbrage with a motorist’s choice of parking, expressing their anger in the form of graffiti.
Pictures of a vandalised Toyota have been shared to social media and geotagged at the suburb of Valley View.
Scrawled on the vehicle’s bonnet and driver’s side door were angry messages written in black marker.
“Do not park here,” read one.
The other was more aggressive: “Do not f***ing park here you f*** head.”
It is not known what enraged the resident enough to cause the graffiti, but Instagram users have their own theories.
Some joked about taking similar measures with vehicles parked in their driveways or in their “spot”.
Others said they were lucky they never encountered such a reaction when they parked in places they should not have.
According to the Graffiti Control Act 2001 (SA) ‘marking graffiti’ includes defacing property in anyway.
It is an offence under South Australian law and the maximum penalty is a $5000 fine or 12 months imprisonment.
Repeat offenders can also now have their driver's licence suspended.
