Devoted father's tragic death day before son's birthday


A devoted father-of-three has died after crashing his motorbike into a tree the day before his son’s birthday.

Brett Fox, 37, crashed his motorbike in Port Elliot, south of Adelaide, on Tuesday night the day before his youngest son’s birthday, Seven News reports.

Friend Sam Bowker told The Adelaide Advertiser Mr Fox’s sons “meant everything to him” and he was a “very loving guy”.

“He loved to spoil you and make you feel special,” she told the paper.

Ms Bowker told Seven News she saw him on Tuesday, hugged him and told him to “take care”.

“Now he’s gone,” she said.

“(He) loved his boys a lot.”

Paramedics were called to the scene on Waterport Road about 9.30pm.

But Mr Fox couldn’t be saved and died at the scene.

His death takes South Australia’s road toll to 31 compared to 19 for the same time last year.
