'Debbie, please don't take my house away': Local serenades approaching cyclone
As Cyclone Debbie threatens to destroy parts of Northern Queensland, one Bowen musician has attempted to serenade her with his version of the “cyclone blues” going viral online.
Forced into the confines of his mum’s home, 24-year-old Karmon Power kindly asked Debbie “please don’t take my house away”.
“Ohh Debbie, can’t wait for better days, ohh just tell me one thing, when’s your sister on her way,” the talented musician sang.
“I wrote it and I went to bed and I woke up this morning and my phone went crazy,” he told 7 News Online.
“I’d seen all these negatives on Facebook about it and thought I’d make something positive of it.”
Passing the time with board games and movies, Mr Power said he had no expectation the song would garner so much attention.
