David Beckham swaps beekeeping tips with the King as he becomes ambassador of monarch's charity
David Beckham and the King have swapped "beekeeping tips".
After reportedly meeting the King in private last month, the former England football captain has been named an ambassador of the King's Foundation, the monarch's charity.
In a statement, Beckham said he has "always been keen to help young people to expand their horizons" and added he is "particularly looking forward to supporting the foundation's… efforts to ensure young people have greater access to nature".
Pictures show the 49-year-old working with students taking part in woodworking courses, provided by the charity, at the Snowdon School of Furniture in Highgrove.
But while Beckham said the King's work was "inspiring to hear", he also said it was great to "compare beekeeping tips" with the monarch.
During the UK's COVID lockdowns, Beckham developed a passion for beekeeping, and has since posted videos of himself working on his hives for World Bee Day.
In May last year, Beckham presented the monarch with a jar of honey he harvested at home while at the British Fashion Council Foundation Impact Day 2023.
Set up by the King in 1986 when he was the Prince of Wales, the foundation aims to revitalise communities through urban regeneration and planning and support sustainable food production and teach rural skills.
It comes as the King continues to make a return to public life, with him watching on with the Queen as their horse came last at Epsom on Friday.

He returned to public duties last month after it was confirmed in February he had been diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer.
It was confirmed this week that the Princess of Wales will not attend the Colonel's Review in London on 8 June, but the King will.
