Dare to Dream: Copenhagen's 3daysofdesign celebrates its 11th edition
Scandi design chic enthusiasts are about to descend on Copenhagen for 3daysofdesign, the city’s annual showcase of Danish and international innovation and creativity across furniture, lighting and more.
3daysofdesign features a programme of diverse exhibitions, installations, talks, workshops and parties, scattered throughout the city at 11 district “hubs”.
Highlights are likely to include an unusual showroom in the form of a historic yacht, courtesy of Finnish furniture company Made by Choice, who will be sailing to Copenhagen; the exhibition TRANSCENDENCE, curated by Danish architect and designer Frederikke Aagaard, in a former shipyard engine workshop; and design platform Ukurant's fourth exhibition of emerging designers, exploring the – often avoided – theme of economic sustainability for designers.
The festival, which has been called the "second biggest destination for design" – playing second fiddle only to Milan Design Week – takes “Dare to Dream” as its theme this year.
“Dreams are the gateway to our innermost thoughts. A springboard for the imagination, free from limitations rooted in practicalities,” Signe Byrdal Terenziani, CEO of 3daysofdesign, “It’s within this dreamscape that unconventional ideas and solutions are born.
3daysofdesign will take place at venues across Copenhagen from 12 – 14 June.
