Dagenham: Woman dies after being hit by vehicle in horror road collision

Police have launched an investigation after a woman died following a fatal collision in Dagenham.

The woman, believed to be in her 60s, was struck by a vehicle in Leys Avenue at around 8.26am on Friday.Police officers and the London Ambulance Service attended the scene, but she was later pronounced dead.

Her next of kin have been informed.

The A1112 Rainham Road South, which runs through Dagenham, was closed following the incident.

The closure was in place near to the Bull roundabout.

Barking and Dagenham Council said on X, formerly Twitter: "Rainham Road South is currently closed at the Bull roadabout due a police incident - please avoid the area and use an alternative route."
