If opulence on the ocean floats your boat, Regent Seven Seas Cruises has a ship for you.

The small ship luxury line offers all-suite, fully-inclusive cruising with food, drink and port excursions all included in an upfront cost.

The newest of its three ships is Seven Seas Voyager, which emerged from a dry-dock makeover in 2013.

And this beautification was no mere lick of paint. The 700-passenger Seven Seas Voyager has new bars, furnishings, mosaic tiling and carpets and teak balconies in all 350 suites. Its two-deck Observation Theatre and nightclub were also completely revamped.

All this on a vessel which already boasted luxurious amenities and a crew to passenger ratio better than one in two.

RSS Voyager's accommodation is that of a top-class hotel on water. Even the entry-level deluxe veranda suites are plush; the 28sqm cabins have king-size beds, marble bathrooms, a sitting area and a walk-in cupboard plus a 5sqm balcony.

Guests can order room service around-the-clock or take advantage of open-seating at all venues. The main dining room is Compass Rose. Passengers can also dine at Signatures, which serves French cuisine, eat Italian at Sette Mari, feast on ribs and steaks at Colorado and Prime 7 or enjoy casual meals at the Pool Grill and Coffee Connection.

There's food for thought, too, in the extensive list of guided shore excursions in each port of call, from visiting ancient Ephesus to jungle treks in Phuket. All are included, as are transfers, food and drink and a fully stocked minibar.

Regent Seven Seas Voyager has a series of cruises available between China and Japan before embarking on itineraries around Europe visiting ports such as Southampton, Copenhagen and Lisbon. Travel agents, (02) 9265 7100 and rssc.com.au.
