Courageous Caleb: The miracle baby who survived against all odds
Just over a year ago, Daniel Stirling’s future looked bleak, close to hopeless.
He had just lost his pregnant partner Sarah, who was killed in a car crash caused by hoons in a stolen vehicle.
Miraculously, their baby boy was delivered after the accident, but little Caleb was critically ill.
It was touch and go, but both father and son refused to give in. Now, almost 18 months later, Caleb is thriving; learning to walk and talk under the watchful eye of his doting dad.
“It’s a very full on gig, but I wouldn’t change it for the world. I mean, I would as such – I’d have Sarah back in a heartbeat,” Daniel told Sunday Night.
“But I’m pushing on, I’m doing the best I can.”
