Couple stopped by airport security for surprising item in luggage

A married couple were shocked when they got pulled into the airport interrogation room after their cat snuck into their hand luggage.

Nick and Voirrey Coole, were travelling from the Isle of Man to New York City to celebrate Nick's 40th birthday when they were delayed at security.

Watching their bag be pulled to one side for additional checking, the couple were racking their mind for ideas of what they may have left in there.

However, when they were pulled into the interrogation room the couple began to worry and knew it was serious – until they were told one of their three cats, Candy, had snuck in to their hand luggage.

Thankfully, the couple were not prosecuted for the unexpected passenger and still made their flight on time due to Voirrey's father, Barry, rushing to the airport to pick up the kitty.

"We have three cats and one of them, Candy, loves to get into bags or boxes,” Mr Coole said.

"Our hand luggage didn't have much in it because we wanted to bring shopping home, but Candy had other ideas.

"She must have snuck into the bag before we left for the airport, but we didn't hear or feel her at all on the journey there.

"When we got to security we didn't need to check inside the bag, as nothing was in there, so put it on the conveyer belt.”

Mr Coole said airport security were puzzled and repeatedly asked if the bag belonged to the couple after something strange showed up on the scanner.

"We ran out of ideas for what it could have been, and my wife even asked them 'it's not a cat is it?'

"When we were told it was we were totally shocked and worried to what happens next, because I’ve never seen the rules on this one.

"Luckily the staff were amazing and helped us organise to get Candy home so we still managed to make our flight.”
