Could a Modern Family reunion be in the works? Jesse Tyler Ferguson sparks rumours after sharing snap from set

Modern Family aired for the last time in April 2020, so fans are understandably getting nostalgic about the hit show.

Actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who played Mitchell Pritchett on the sitcom, has sparked rumours about a possible reunion or reboot after posting an Instagram Story of the show's set, at the Dunphy household.

"Haven't seen this view in a while", he wrote in the caption. Short but sweet, this was enough to get fans excited.

"REUNION?" One fan responded.

"Why did I start tearing up?" another said.

"Modern Family reboot is the best reboot I'd ever root for," another added.

Co-star Eric Stonestreet also posted a picture of Jesse Taylor with the same caption, "haven't seen this view in a while", further fuelling the speculation.

And when Ed O’Neill, who played Jay Pritchett, was asked about a reunion he didn't rule it out entirely. He said: “I don’t like to do that stuff. I mean, I am open to it. I like everybody involved, so I wouldn’t be the guy who [says no if everyone else wants to]. I wouldn’t do that.”

In January 2024, Sofia Vergara who played Gloria Delgado-Pritchett on the show, weighed in on the possibility of a Modern Family reunion while on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

“No, it’s only been four years,” she said.

“I don’t know, but it doesn’t seem right. I feel like we need a little bit more time," she added.

“Well, we don’t have much time because Ed [O’Neill] is old,” Sofia later joked.

Another fan spotted a Modern Family truck, which led to even more excitement.

“What’s happening???” one fan responded.

It has almost been 15 years since the show began. Running 11 seasons from 2009 to 2020, it followed the lives of three families related by marriage. The show won numerous awards including 22 Primetime Emmy Awards.

It’s still unknown whether a reunion could take place, but fans remain hopeful.
