Victorian paramedic diagnosed with coronavirus
A Victorian paramedic has been diagnosed with coronavirus.
Ambulance Victoria said the person was their second paramedic to be diagnosed.
Neither of the two cases were acquired at work.
Ambulance Victoria CEO Tony Walker said the organisation had focused on how to protect staff and patients during the pandemic.
“Paramedics wear Personal Protective Equipment to every case they attend to protect their patients and themselves from the risk of infection,” he said.
On Monday, Victoria reported 75 new cases of coronavirus.
