The man who killed Brisbane teen and promising sportsman Cole Miller in a one-punch attack has been sentenced to seven years in prison.
New Zealand man Armstrong Renata was sentenced in the Brisbane Supreme Court on Friday.
The 23-year-old must serve 80 per cent of his sentence, meaning he will be eligible for parole in just under four years.
The offence carries a maximum penalty of life imprisonment.
Renata punched Mr Miller, a champion water polo player, in the back of the head while out in the Fortitude Valley nightclub district in January 2016.
The 18-year-old suffered massive brain trauma, with his family making the heartbreaking decision to turn off his life support the following day.
It comes after Renata's co-accused, Daniel Maxwell, walked from court in August after being handed an 18-month suspended sentence for starting the fight that led to Mr Miller's death.
