Clive Palmer on European cruise after facing court with sick bag over $66m company collapse

Clive Palmer has reportedly taken family and friends on an expensive Mediterranean cruise a month after taking the stand in a court case while sick with pancreatitis.

The former federal MP appeared at a Federal Court in Brisbane in May clutching a vomit bag, and using a breathing apparatus and pillow, while he give evidence to liquidators of his Queensland Nickel company.

The company went to the wall with $66 million owed to employees in unpaid salaries and superannuation.

News Corp Australia has published photos and details of the 24-day, $10,000 a head cruise Mr Palmer and his family boarded in Spain.

In the photos Mr Palmer appeared to be fit and healthy and was walking without the assistance of anyone.

His breathing apparatus and sick bag were not visible in the photographs.

Mr Palmer has since issued a statement defending his decision to go holiday with his family "The fact of the matter is that I am the only Australian who has offered any resistance to the Chinese Government’s infiltration of our country or the takeover of our media by foreign interests."

He said all outstanding entitlements had been paid by the Commonwealth Government to Queensland Nickel employees.
