‘Cleaner’ extradited over Bunnings cabinet body

A Queensland businessman who was allegedly hired as ‘The Cleaner’ to dispose of a murdered man’s body will remain behind bars after being extradited to NSW.

Charles Dennis Le Marchant Turnbull was extradited after the body of 22-year-old Darcy Schafer-Turner was found in a metal cabinet on a property at Warrell Creek, south of Macksville, on May 12.

He was allegedly murdered by his friend Zachary Richard Fraser, also 22, at a home in Sydney’s south in late April.

It’s alleged that Mr Schafer-Turner was violently assaulted over a drug-related dispute.

Mr Fraser was arrested and charged in May and the matter remains before the courts.

Police will allege Mr Turnbull, who runs an aviation business from Brisbane airport, was hired as a “cleaner” following Mr Schafer-Turner’s alleged murder.

Mr Turnbull was charged on Friday at Tweed Heads police station with accessory after the fact to murder, stealing motor vehicle and improperly interfering with a corpse.

He faced a Sydney Downing Centre local court on Tuesday, where he did not apply for bail.

Mr Turnbull will face court again in November.
