Christopher Dean has revealed that he has broken one of his fingers just days before the start of the new series of Dancing On Ice.
The ice-skating champion shared a clip from 2007 comedy film Blades Of Glory on Twitter as he joked that it had happened while he and his ice partner Jayne Torvill were attempting a risky move – before confessing he did it by falling over a bag.
He told fans: "We were trying the Iron Lotus, but ended up doing a Half Nelson. Or did I just fall over a suitcase in the middle of the night."
Dean, 64, then added another picture of his hand, which showed a bandage wrapped around his little finger.
"Yes broken," he confirmed, adding a grimacing emoji.
The star's fall comes just a few days before the start of Dancing On Ice, where he and Torvill are returning to the judging panel alongside former Strictly Come Dancing star Oti Mabuse and Diversity's Ashley Banjo.
Plenty of fans wished him a "speedy recovery" after he opened up about his mishap.
"Ouch hope it mends quickly," one person posted on Twitter.
"I hope it doesn't stop you and Jayne on Dancing On Ice," said another.
Somebody else tweeted: "Hopefully it won’t stop you still doing an ice skate for all your viewers."
"Ah no way!!!!!!" said one fan.
"Should get some ice on that!" they quipped.
