Chilling video shows men carrying bags 'containing journalist's remains'

A disturbing twist has emerged in the investigation surrounding the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

Possible new clues have come to light from security footage shown on Turkish television.

The CCTV footage was taken outside the residence of the Saudi Consul General in Istanbul, a short distance from the consulate where 59-year-old Khashoggi was murdered in October, strangled before his body was cut into pieces.

The footage shows three men carrying suitcases and bags into the residence.

It is claimed those bags contain the remains of the journalist.

Khashoggi was a critic of Saudi Prince Mohammad Bin Salman.

He had been living in the US and wrote for The Washington Post.

Turkish and US officials have claimed the Crown Prince was responsible for ordering the killings, which the Saudis have repeatedly denied.

The consulate and the residence were searched by Turkish authorities, but they were unable to find Khashoggi’s remains. His body still has not been found.

Saudi Arabia says 11 people have been charged over what it calls a rogue operation, but Turkey wants the investigation into his killing taken to the United Nations.
