Chilling footage of the moment two alleged machete wielding home invaders fled from a Sydney home has emerged.

NSW Police released the footage in hopes the public can assist in identifying two men, as they continue to investigate a terrifying home invasion in Campbelltown on December 28.

Emergency services were called to a home on Chamberlain St about 3.40pm following reports of a home invasion.

When police arrived at the home, they were told two men, armed with machetes, forced their way into the home before threatening the residents and making off with their personal items.

The 21-year-old driver of a Kia hatchback was arrested by detectives following investigations but was released without charge.

Nearby CCTV cameras and a Ring doorbell captured footage of two hooded men police believe can help with ongoing investigations.

The first man is described as being of caucasian appearance, in his early to mid-20s, about 195cm tall with a solid build.

The second man is also described as being of caucasian appearance, in his early to mid-20s, about 175cm tall with a thin build.
