Chaos after guard falls off moving train

Sydney’s train system has been thrown into chaos after a guard fell off a moving train.

Emergency services rushed to Burwood Train Station in the city’s inner west before 6am, where it is understood the female guard fell from a moving train.

The T2 Inner West & Leppington line is facing delays of more than 40 minutes, while the T9 Northern line is facing delays for 20 minutes have both been impacted.

Trains had to be stopped completely while the woman was treated by NSW Paramedics for injuries to her leg.

She has now been taken to hospital.

Commuters are being urged to allow extra travel time.

Sydney Trains took to social media to warn passengers of the delays.

“Allow extra travel time due to an incident requiring emergency services at Burwood,” Sydney Trains said on X, formerly Twitter.

“Trains may stop on platforms or between stations for longer than normal while the incident is ongoing.

“Please listen to announcements, check information screens and apps for service updates.”
