Car ploughs through Coles in scary crash

Two people have been rushed to hospital after a car crashed through the front of a Coles in NSW’s north.

The Toyota Corolla ploughed through the supermarket on Fox Street in Ballina at about 12:30pm on Tuesday, stopping just before the aisles of the supermarket.

Police say that the car allegedly struck a woman inside the supermarket.

The woman, aged in her 30s, was treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital for minor injuries.

A woman in her 70s who was allegedly behind the wheel was also taken to hospital for treatment for shock and minor injuries.

Her male passenger did not report any injuries.

Images of the incident show that the car had done considerable damage tot he store, trampling displays and crashing through gates.

It’s understood that the store has been closed until further notice.

“The safety of our customers and team members is always our highest priority,” a Coles spokesperson said.
