Car filmed driving through CBD with huge item hanging from boot
Bewildered motorists in Melbourne were baffled after one driver headed through the CBD with a bizarre household item hanging from their car boot.
Dashcam footage from Thursday shows the driver heading westbound on Victoria Street, approaching Exhibition Street with the corner of a double mattress trapped in the boot.
One driver jumps out of his vehicle to warn the motorist of their grave error, gesturing to the large load being dragged along behind them.
The unwitting motorist sheepishly makes their way to the side of the road, before pulling over.
The short clip was uploaded to Dash Cam Owners Australia’s Facebook page on Friday, with dozens of users revealing their disbelief over the incident.
“How do you not notice a king single mattress, hanging off the back of your car?” one user questioned.
Others managed to see the funny side of the mishap, with many cracking jokes over the unusual occurrence.
“When the kids just don’t want to wake up for school,” one comment read.
“It’s like walking out of the toilet with a bit of toilet paper under your foot,” another pointed out.
