Russian military reportedly fled the village without a fight

A video from the border village of Gorkovsky in Russia’s Belgorod Oblast, which was taken over by pro-Ukrainian units consisting of Russian and Chechen volunteers, was posted on social media on March 18.

The footage was reportedly shot the day before, on March 17.

"The military intelligence of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria is in Belgorod Oblast, the village of Gorkovsky... We came to vote for Putin, but we can't find the ballot box," one of the Chechen fighters joked, commenting on the transition of the settlement to the control of Russian volunteers.

The local security forces did not put up any resistance to them, leaving Gorkovsky without a fight.

The Russian Volunteer Corps (RDK) announced earlier the capture of this village, publishing a photo taken there with its flag.
