Cambridge man faces dozens of charges after police investigation into thefts

A 25-year-old Cambridge man is facing more than 40 charges in a break and enter investigation, according to Waterloo regional police.

It's in connection to a report of a break-in police received from a business in September in the area of Franklin Boulevard and Bishop Street in Cambridge.

Police said two male suspects entered the business by smashing a front window. Police said the suspects stole cash and property, including a vehicle.

Investigators identified one of the male suspects and connected him to several other thefts that happened in Kitchener and Waterloo between December and March.

Police arrested the man Thursday and he has been charged with:

  • Break, enter a place, commit indictable offence.

  • Possession of break-in instruments.

  • Motor vehicle theft.

  • Disguise with intent (nine counts).

  • Theft under $5,000 (nine counts).

  • Attempt theft under $5,000 (nine counts).

  • Mischief under $5,000 (three counts).

  • Possession of coin operated device breaking instrument (nine counts).
