Aldi Special Buys are always an experience, and this weekend is no different.
The German giant is flogging its famous (or infamous) four-person and six-person instant up tents on Saturday 12 September, but with camping gear triggering a “mass stampede” last year, this special buy is sure to set off some hysteria.
The tents come with two awning poles, power cord entry points and internal storage pockets. They’ve also got insect resistant mesh windows and doors and heated taped seams.
The four-person tent is $129, and the six-person is $149, and the members of an Aldi forum online have given them glowing reviews.
“I’ve used mine a few times. No issues at all and so quick to put up! Game changer!” One member said.
“I love mine, great quality and quick and easy to set up,” another said.
One member said the six-person tent fits a blow up king mattress and a kids’ single side-by-side, with space for bags remaining.
But, like many Special Buys, actually getting your hands on one could prove tricky.
One member of a caravanning specials forum said the 2019 camping sale was “a bit of a tea and bun fight”.
On another forum, one member wrote she was “shell shocked” by the frenzy.
“[My] neighbor had one van cover reefed out of his reach and my hubby managed to grab one for us,” she said.
