'Bring him home': Aussie man left in coma after horrific Bali motorcycle crash

A North Queensland man remains in a coma after a horrific motorcycle accident in Bali.

Erran Braddick, 32, suffered critical injuries following the crash in Bali on Friday night, with bleeding on the brain and serious internal injuries, according to a GoFundMe page.

His sister, Daneile, wrote on the page Mr Braddick, who lives in Mackay, was currently in a coma.

“Our goal is to get him back onto Australian soil as costs of him to remain at a hospital in Kuta are astronomical,” Ms Braddick wrote.

“The price it costs to get him home is also very high ($80,000-$130,000) however with your help we could get our target and return him to his family, and get the further medical support he needs. Thank you all for your support and prayers.”

Mr Braddick’s friend, who is named Adam Mc on Facebook, appealed for help on social media – adding it was costing the family “an arm and a leg” for the man to stay in hospital.

His rugby club, Mackay Brothers Rugby Union, also appealed for donations to bring the 32-year-old home.

The club is collecting money at their home games on Friday night.

“[There will be] gold coin donation on entry [and] we will be running full bar, hot food, as well as running meat raffles and other fundraisers,” it wrote.

“So please come down and support this night, for one of our own.”

A Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade spokesperson told Yahoo News in a statement consular assistance was being provided to an Australian man hospitalised in Bali and his family in accordance with the consular services charter.

“Owing to our privacy obligations we will not provide further comment,” the spokesperson said.
