A primary school in Bradford has been closed due to flooding.

Killinghall Primary School will not be open on Tuesday 7 May following heavy rain across Yorkshire.

Work has been set for the school's 734 pupils on its online learning platform, Seesaw.

"We will keep you informed as to what is happening in school tomorrow," reads a message on the school's website. "We apologise for any inconvenience."

Parents of children at the primary school were told to check their phones for text messages, or visit the school website for any updates.

Flash floods affected roads and rail services across the region on bank holiday Monday.

The M606 was closed in both directions at junction three, at the Staygate roundabout in Bradford.

Bradford Council said a number of roads were closed in the city centre and surrounding areas as a result of flooding.

There was also disruption on the trains, with the line between Bradford and Halifax blocked on Monday afternoon and evening.

Northern said services from Blackpool North to York, Leeds to Manchester Victoria and Halifax to Hull services were all affected by the adverse weather.

The Met Office has not issued any further flood warnings or alerts in Bradford on Tuesday, but said "some river and sea levels are high".
