Two teenage boys have allegedly been raped, tortured and buried alive in a horrific overnight attack at a cemetery.
The violence unfolded on Saturday evening in Solna near the Swedish capital of Stockholm, when two men, aged 18 and 21, allegedly became aggressive after the boys, whose specific ages have not be released by authorities, refused to buy drugs from them, according to Swedish news site Aftonbladet.
Police said the attack begun about 11pm (local time) after the men selected the boys randomly before taking them to the cemetery.
The boys were reportedly victims to a degrading torture-like assault and were injured after being stabbed in the legs.
At one point, the victims were reportedly forced to undress and were raped before being forced into a pit, where the men started burying them alive.
The attack came to an end when the boys alerted a witness to the scene about 8.39am then next day, after they had been enduring the attack for nearly 10 hours.
The bystander reportedly pointed out the perpetrators to police when they arrived seven minutes later.
The men, who were known to police, were arrested and have been charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault, rape and aggravated robbery.
One of the men was reportedly wearing an item that belonged to one of the boys when he was arrested.
The condition of the boys following the attack is not known, but it has been reported that they were “responsive”.
