Boy, 14, arrested after pregnant woman stabbed in the stomach

A pregnant woman has been stabbed multiple times in the abdomen and chest after disturbing an intruder in her northern Sydney home.

The woman, 33, was attacked during the break-in at her home on Gloria Close in Mount Colah about 8.50pm on Thursday and sought help from neighbours after the intruder fled the scene.

“She would have been home by herself, she was very stressed,” assisting neighbour Mark told Sunrise.

“We just called 000 and waited for the police to arrive,” he recalled after she told him she’d just been stabbed.

The woman, who was home alone at the time of the incident, is several months pregnant and the condition of her unborn child remains unknown at this stage.

Police arrested a 14-year-old boy at a nearby home about an hour after the incident.

He is awaiting surgery under police guard at Hornsby Hospital after suffering hand wounds.

The property and the surrounding area remains a crime scene as police investigations continue.
