Bones – believed to be human remains – have been found in a Queensland park.

A member of the public called triple-0 on Monday about 3pm after finding the bones in Glen Lomond Park at Middle Ridge, near Toowoomba.

A crime scene has been established.

It’s understood the remains may have been there for some time, with forensic officers working to determine how long the bones had been there.

Police are reviewing all missing person records for the area.

Police have requested the SES join in the wide scale search planned for the bushtrail.

Searches of the park are expected to be extensive.
