Boil water advisory for Wheatley, Tilbury lifted
A boil water advisory issued Monday for residents of Wheatley and Tilbury has been lifted as of Thursday afternoon, health officials say.
Chatham-Kent Public Health said acting medical officer of health, Dr. Shanker Nesathurai, is lifting the advisory following "satisfactory" water testing results.
The advisory was put in place due to a loss in water pressure throughout the distribution system.
It was the second time since the fall people in the two towns on the west side of Chatham-Kent have been warned not to drink water directly from their tap.
The first advisory for the towns in September lasted three weeks and was because of a fire at the Wheatley water treatment plant, which took the plant's systems offline.
